Operating Hours
The UKZN Pietermaritzburg campus has the following sporting facilities;
- 2 x cricket ovals (one with floodlights)
- Cricket nets
- 2 x soccer fields (one with floodlights)
- 2 x rugby fields (one with floodlights)
- 6 x tennis courts (three with floodlights)
- 2 x netball courts (one with floodlights)
- 1 x Olympic size pool (with floodlights)
- 1x Hockey Astro turf ( with floodlights)
- 6 x squash courts
These facilities are firstly and foremost used by the UKZN clubs for their practices / matches. All the premier rugby league home matches are hosted at Peter Booysen on the main rugby field. The cricket ovals are extensively used in the cricket season for all the cricket leagues, the 20/20 series as well as a host of day/night matches.
The Pietermaritzburg campus however does not have an indoor centre and codes of sport such as basketball, dance, karate and volleyball have club practices either on main campus or at off campus venues.
There is a gym available to students on campus. Aerobics classes are also provided.
